Philippines has excelled in the international arena in sports competitions and beauty pageants over the last couple of years. Manny Pacquiao, the boxing champ, and Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe, are two of the most renowned people who brought pride and honor to the country. Since Wurtzbach's victory along with several titles gained by other beauty queens, Philippines seemed to have established its way to the limelight of the pageantry. In fact, this year, the country is made host for the 65th Miss Universe pageant. It may entail added burden on the part of the Philippines' representative, Maxine Medina but this event hosting can absolutely jazz up the country's tourism industry. With 86 countries watching out for the coronation, all eyes are absolutely on the Philippines.
Miss Universe candidates visited different places in the country as they discover and share the culture of Filipino people. Last January 17, 2017, all 86 candidates flew to Cebu for the swimwear competition. In the afternoon, the top-of-the-mind brand, Uniqlo and SM Seaside sponsored an event for the candidates. 12 of the candidates shopped and flaunted their Uniqlo outfits at SM Seaside. Media, bloggers, and some great personalities were invited to meet and greet with the candidates.
Yes, luckily I got a slot for the event. It's my first time to respond to any event in our group blog, Cebu Blogging Community. The event started at around 5 PM. Snacks were served and the mall staff was quite accommodating so we really didn't mind waiting. Gift coupons from Uniqlo were also given at the end of the event.
I wasn't able to capture photos as it was quite impossible to do that when you're a petite girl and you stand behind great bloggers and photographers. LOL. Seriously, I couldn't get decent shots but I have here a short video blog for yesterday's event. This the first vlog I made from scratch. :P
XOXO,
