Campuestohan Highland Resort

Summer strikes again! A lot of plans are on the way and our first stop is Negros Occidental.

I and my co-teachers had planned to visit one of our colleagues' hometown a month ago. Just a week after the closing ceremonies and the hectic days of complying with clearance requirements and furnishing all school forms, I crammed for our trip. I had a last minute preparation for the stuff we need for the short vacation. Despite all these, the trip was worthwhile.

It was my second time to be in Bacolod. I went there two years ago for a teachers' convention with my colleagues but this year I'm into some real fun and adventure. Traveling wasn't just a sidetrip anymore oh yeah!!! LOL

The first place we visited was the famous Campuestohan Highland Resort in Talisay City. I guess it was an hour (or less) drive from Silay Airport. Entrance fee was at P150 which entitles you to swimming pool and playground usage. We rented an umbrella hut near the pool. The view from there was perfect! We bought our own food which was perfectly fine. No corkage whatsoever!

I didn't get to enjoy the pool because I was so excited to try the seemingly adventurous rope course. According to its developer, it is the longest and toughest rope course in the Philippines. It seems easy and passable but first impressions never really last. HAHAHA!

The rope course adventure cost P200 plus P50 for shoe rental and a free pair of socks if you forgot to wear sneakers.

We tried the rope course as a group, three gave up, one faltered and tried again, and the rest were able to surpass the obstacles without failing.

Later do we realize that we should have warmed-up before we ventured into the rope course. We had muscle cramps especially in the arms and legs.
We didn't see it coming unfortunately .. haha.
At the end, we earned a certificate and an experience of a lifetime!

Campuestohan also had an amazing zipline which costs P200.

Hanging Bridge

Wish I could go back to this place for a relaxing getaway. I'd love to have an overnight stay in one of its igloos but I'd probably have a chance next time. I can just imagine the soft cold breeze during the night. It would be perfect for a honeymoon (Yaykss!!) or simply for a family  vacation.
