The five-day training is so over! I winded up the week with a relaxing getaway which I felt I deserved after prioritizing work over my personal leisure for the past five months. I knew I had to take a break after battling with all the stressors of the workplace. It was a quick breather over the weekend but it was priceless.
Dakong Bato in Dalaguete, Cebu seemed to be the perfect place to unwind with friends, colleagues, and family. This place has been maximized to provide a larger space for team building and other outdoor activities. The resort has function halls and wide dining area which can be used for wedding and birthday receptions.
When I got to the reception area, I had an impression that the resort was not as big as I imagined. Reaching the garden palisades near the receiving area, I was stupefied for a second to see the beautiful landscape downstairs. It was a perfect spot to see the pool, the beach, and the cottages. Getting to the cottage felt like treading a maze.
I and my friends settled in an open cottage good enough for 5-6 people minus the luggage. They have a grilling and washing area. Their toilets are clean but the shower area was designed without doors. I didn't kinda like that idea. A karaoke/videoke is also available in their gazebo. Just prepare your five-peso coins!
I enjoyed every little corner of the resort. They have two swimming pools. One of the pools was, I think, for kids because of the slides while the other one was just 5-feet deep. I loved it because I won't have to struggle with its depth as a non-swimmer. ^_^ The water did not feel so heavy. It was as light as spring or seawater. They were a little strict with the swimming attire.
I also find that mini picturesque space in front of the beach really perfect for cam whores. LOL. It was a large formation of rocks that resembles a cave entrance. Perfect spot for photo shoot! The beach was not so impressive but the little hut or cottage floating betwixt the sea. To reach this cute attraction, you have to use the raft and hold on to the rope to stay on track. Luckily, we had someone who pulled the rope for us. The feeling of the sea crest and the water that sweeps off our skin while on the raft were really unforgettable.
So here's everything about Dakong Bato in a motion picture (actually just a video clip. hehe)
Dakong Bato is just two-hour drive from Cebu City. For public transpo, bus fare is at Php150 (one way). The resort is situated near the national road so it wouldn't be too hard to find this place.
